Fill the grid with words that fit the clues. Every answer crosses others, so each letter you get helps with the words around it.
Tap a square to select it. Tap it again, or tap the clue, to switch between Across and Down.
On a keyboard: type letters, use the arrow keys to move, Space to switch direction, and Tab or Enter to jump to the next clue.
Pencil enters letters in grey, for guesses you're not sure of.
Hint swaps the clue you're on for an easier version of it.
Check marks wrong letters with a red line. Reveal fills in the answer and marks it with a red corner.
There's one grid with three sets of clues for the same answers:
Easy: plain definitions and fill-in-the-blanks.
Medium: less obvious meanings and some trivia.
Hard: misdirection and wordplay. A clue ending in "?" isn't meant literally.
Pick a level before you start. Once you've started you can move to harder clues, and use Hint on any clue you're stuck on. Solves without hints, checks or reveals count toward your best times.
There's a new puzzle every day. Solve on consecutive days to build a streak.
Missed a day? Pick any of the last seven from the row of days at the top, or swipe it sideways. Solving a day later still counts toward your streak.
